About Fair Winds Council
Looking for more info on who we are?
Girl Scouting spread as a grassroots movement across the United States after its birth on March 12, 1912 in Savannah, Georgia. The earliest troops began meeting in our area in 1914. Fair Winds Council is a consolidation of earlier councils. The name, Fair Winds, was selected in 1958.
Today, Fair Winds Council is comprised of more than 940 troops throughout 50 communities within Genesee, Lapeer, Northern Oakland and Shiawassee Counties. The Council consists of over 10,000 girl members supported by over 4,000 caring adults who empower girls and young women to discover and achieve their full potential.
